So, Fred, does this mean you're not doing the 5-state Harley parade?  :-)

I'd be interested, but mid-July can be awefully hot in Arkansas, even up in the mountains (most of which are less than 2000 ft elev).  I've been there several times in early June and it can be hot even then.  I've stayed at The Hub before, excellent location for getting to the best roads.  The rooms are spartan (but all I need is a bed and a bathroom).  Owners were real nice.

Yes I am still doing the 5-State ride in early May.

With the other Rallys having set dates, and the availability of rooms at The Hub. My choice of dates were limited. Yes, I agree the temps may be on the warm side. I would much rather ride in hot than cold.

If you are worried about being hot just wear chaps, a leather vest and nosepicker gloves..............

.........and no, I'm not serious. I leave that gear to the cruisers. Just remember to bring a hydration backpack.

On the Colorado Rally, I had 2 complete sets of riding gear. On Friday it was a cool day and I wore my leathers. Saturday was a warmer day and I wore my mesh gear.

Has anyone talked to David in the past few months? I may give him a call and see if he wants to join in on the fun.

Here is some more information for those that are interested/are attending. Push Mountain Road http://motorcycleroads.com/75/34/Arkansas/Push-Mountain-Road.html Is a very well known road for motorcycles.

This next road is also well known. The Pig Trail http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/20/Arkansas/Arkansas-Pig-Trail---Arkansas-23.html

Butler Maps has their Ozarks map now available for $14.95 at their website www.butlermaps.com

Another website that has maps and routes for the area is www.touringthe ozarks.com. It is more cruiser oriented, but they have most of the good loops listed as well.

If anyone is interested, I will snail mail them an official Arkansas state highway map. Just drop me a PM with your mailing address & I will have one headed your way.

Push Mountain is awesome, a MUST ride!
The Pig Trail isn't worth it, that is the only 3 miles worth doing.
ARK21 is much better as is everything around Jasper.

I will be going to the The Hub May 2nd-4th and will get first hand knowledge of the ammenities and I will be able to ride some of the areas roads.

Here is another source of routes and info. The only thing I found incorrect was refering to Push Mountain Road as Hwy. 314 instead of 341. No big deal.

Change of plans on the 5 state ride. I will not be doing the 5 state ride.

I will be attending the We Ride America Meet & Greet at The Hub. May 2-4 for a first hand experience of the facilities and riding some of the areas roads.

Looks like you're going to have to choose which ride to participate in.  Choose Push Mountain for the all day ride!

If you do one of the half day rides, choose the Ark Grand Canyon.  I believe that's actually ARK374 which will get you to Mt Judea and ARK123 (great road!)
