Just because, it would be interesting to know who in the forum has the lowest 1984 serial number / oldest bike. I have to wait 6 more years......

The serial number on my 84fj is JYA50H000EA002266. When I bought insurance for it before I picked it up in Spokane that number would not pull up on any DMV list.Did not make me feel good as I had already paid for it. Examined the frame and that was it.  :good2:

000303  Bought her in May 1984. The first FJ to arrive at Champion Motors in Costa Mesa, Ca.
It cost me a 5 pizza lunch for the shop, but they let me watch while they opened the shipping crate and put her together.
I've been waiting for the FJ since I started reading about them in '82.

My 1984 FJ1100 has a serial number of 000142, manufactured in 2/84.  To the best of my knowledge production started with serial number 000100 in February of 1984 for the FJ's imported to the U.S. The Red/Silver combo was only produced through the summer of 1984.  I used to have an 1985 FJ1100 that was Red/White with a  manufactured date of 9/84. This leads me to believe the Red/Silver model was only produced for about seven months, thus the reason you don't see very many of that color combination.
