Front Brakes FJ11

For the past 2 years I have owned 2 very nice, polished aluminium adapters. These allow me to bolt 'blue spot' calipers to my '11. I also have the calipers. I have 3 metres of ss cable. I'm only interested in the front brakes. I want to keep the anti-dive. What connectors (banjo's, olives, washers etc) do I need to buy? I am 'intelligent' but I can't figure it out. Thank you. Tony

I believe for each caliper/anti-dive unit you should need a Double length banjo bolt to attach the brake line and anti-dive line to the caliper. Run the anti-dive line forward the the anti-dive unit and use OEM bolt to attach the line.

Thank you. However, like Watson, when he's with Sherlock, I am limited in my understanding. Say, 3 yards (US) of hose, blue spots, and the adapter plates. Keeping the anti dive. Just go through it, (again) as if you were talking to an ignoramus. Please. I need to get it right. Thank you so much.

It would be nice to have a functional anti-dive system.  Shame Yamaha never made one for the FJ.

This would be a better option and you would have better handling and braking. Plus the blue spots bolt directly to the forks. You would be able the sell the fork/brake caliper adaptor plates and recover some of your expense.

When replacing brake lines, it is very important to use new crush washers on both sides of the hose fittings. The measurement is 10mm and can be bought at most auto parts stores.

And watch out for brake fluid on paint and plastic parts. It doesn't take but a few seconds to ruin your tank or fairing parts.

I will be careful, although the bike is old but still good looking. Local autoparts store here is, well....rare and a bit like waiting for food in a ´´cold war´´ Russian shop......nothing on display. Tony

He is indeed and is in contact. Thank you so much for the diagram, I shall print it. I have trouble ´´seeing the finishd result´´ and seeing it in 3D. Useless trying to learn the structure of the Double Helix. Tony

It´s ´´áesthetics´´ I saw one many years ago with  fitted in SS, highly polished. Functional ( or not) it looked good. Tony
