Hey Mark, the China rotors I noticed were the 320mm single faced version. 320mm will be to large.

I can't recall if you've already done this but on your early FJ you can run 298mm (or 300mm) single faced rotors if you have changed out your oem fork lowers to a '89 or later model FJ lowers, use a '89+ front rim (or better, wider 87/88 FZR rim) and of course the R-1 brakes are suggested.

Unless you have converted your entire front end to a YZF600 or FZR1000, etc, you can not run 320mm rotors.

Cheers!

my forks are a 90 set up and I have the blue pot calipers, the china rotors were listed to  fit but you think they are the 320mm not the 298mm.
just wondering if someone had ordered from them and what was the result.

frank you have a good point about the metal used , they may consist of cheese and rice.

Mark, I'm in the suspect metal camp - reckon they would warp factor 9 quicker than the enterprise. Why do I say this? - well when India began making Royal Enfields they used to leak - like all previous Royal Enfields, but not at the case joins, actually through the casings as the metal quality was so porous. I know I'm not comparing like with like, but I'd stick with Japanese metal.

Yea, now I remember, that's why you didn't need the SS antidive lines. Cool
If they are the 298mm and drilled for the FJ or FZR, then you're good to go...

I saw these too they are 300mm rotors and 5mm thick, I think oem are 298mm and 4mm thick for 89-93 so they should work. The extra 2mm dia and 1mm thickness might help resist any wrapping, and the $205 price shipped is better than any I could find at the time.

They state that they use: 420 Stainless steel + 6061-T6 aluminium.

I was going to get them but I was able to pickup are set of 96FZR600 on Ebay for $42.  $42 vs $205 I think I came out ahead now I can start looking for Givi trunk system.

I was going to pick up a set for my 9.  $200 shipped for what appeared to be Galfer knockoffs.

Everyone knocks the chinese stuff, but I figure hell, probably 80% of the parts used in a new car/bike were sourced from there anyhow, so it can't be all bad.  Haven't heard from anyone who actually tried a set either, only a friend's cousin's uncle's dog's first owner had some and when they pulled the brakes their hair fell out and they crashed into the side of a mountain and then the bike fell into the lava.

But when a set of used rotors came up for $80, I figured I'd rather have the extra weight of $120 difference in my pocket, and off we go.

It sounds like nobody is willing to pull the trigger and buy a set of these rotors.

I have been checking ebay as well, but the last set of rotors I bought were less than perfect and warped real quick.

looking for something better than stock for my manly girth and ridding style.

maybe the ebc of galfer rotors.

Mark go ahead and get them no negative feedback from the seller; you can be the group tester on this one....

Paddy, I still have not started on putting back together my '87 so the FZR USDforks are just sitting. I don't the vast amounts of free time as some people(retired) have.   I picked up my F3 forks for my '89 from Jon in late Aug. when I went back to visit my parents. I still have not taken them out for a true run in the canyons yet, but I'm sure they will do great. I'll get out to the garage and start on the '87 when the weather turns and my honey-do list gets shorter.

Just as a side note, ebay does not allow negative feedback anymore, they say they have found that it reduces business on ebay, recently had a go around with them on two deadbeats on selling my fzr and both did not pay or respond and I could not leave any negative feedback

Ebay does not allow negative feedback from sellers.

As a buyer you can leave it.

Since this topic came up a couple have people have inquired if I could get brake rotors. I checked with my biggest vendor and they are an EBC stocking dealer and I can purchase EBC brake rotors & pads. While he does not stock the FJ parts, he is willing to add them to inventory if I have enough interest.

They make a round and "scalloped" stainless steel rotors for our application. I found some pictures, but the are not the best.

At this time, I can order them on a stock order and there will be no drop-ship or special order fees. Again, if there is enough interest he will add them to his inventory and I can get them any time.

I looked up a set for Mark's bike since he asked the question here.

For Mark's 1990 application the costs are;

Round:         $225.00 ea. (http://img9.rivercrane.jp/catalogue/13429/image4-1s.jpg)
Scalloped     $234.00 ea. (http://img9.rivercrane.jp/catalogue/13429/image4-2s.jpg)

Let me know if you are interested.
