Saw some banter regarding this film on another forum. Not sure if it will be as impacting as On Any Sunday (the original one, and for those old enough to remember when this one came out), but I'll probably drag the GF to it.

Why We Ride:

Movie Storyline: The passion of the riders and the soul of their machines.

Howdy,

Do not forget "Take It To The Limit"; towards the end of the film; Isle of Mann & Mike Hailwood - a petty cool ride.

This movie looks interesting, so I signed up for the Tampa, Florida showing.

I'll hop on the bike after work and ride down for dinner and the movie, then ride back to Orlando.

Any Florida riders want to join me?

(Hard Rock Casino is on the way back; it's just too bad they don't have Craps! I like shooting Craps.)

I originally saw "On Any Sunday" on the big screen at our local Drive-In. I was about 12-13 years old & about as motorcycle crazy as any 12 year old girl is for horses. Somehow I knew that I was watching more than just an average movie.

I still enjoy popping it into the old VCR. LOL. I watched the Sons attempt at a sequel & it was good, but it was not Special like the original.

Happened in Minneapolis also. A couple of days after I "reserved" two tickets, and then received notification the showing was going to happen due to enough (reserved tickets purchased) interest. There are others who didn't get to it soon enough asking for another showing.

I emailed them, and they responded back:

Hi Alan,
It's great to hear your enthusiasm to see "Why We Ride". We are planning on doing a second round of showings that we will be announcing soon. I've added you to our emailing list so you'll know as soon as that information goes out.

Good to hear about the additional showing in Denver. I suspect the same will happen in Minneapolis too. I look forward to seeing it on a big screen.

It is also a good thing that it will be out on DVD at some time too, so others can enjoy it.

Happy to have attended its showing. Especially after getting a couple of inches of snow yesterday.

I wanted to see a movie about motorcycles in general, their riders, and the impact on their lives of having motorcyles in them, and that's what it was. But it wasn't what I expected, and honestly, it was fine for what it was. Worth seeing at the theater, or renting for home viewing.

Good to see motorcycling greats like King Kenny Roberts and Mert Lawwill being interviewed too. A couple of riders from On Any Sunday. However, the movie Why We Ride was not a replacent for that epic movie. But its not meant to be either.

Mert Lawwill's piece in the movie was very good, where it shows his continual dedication to the sport of motorcycling, and his super contributions to others, who may have at one point in their riding career, had to give up riding due to medical issues such as amputations, but due to Mert's ingenuity, can ride again.

There were many good things about the movie. Enjoy.

Was the wait pretty long to get into the theater?

No, not at all. We were probably in our seats about 20 - 25 minutes early, so we could get decent ones. I'm sure it was a different situation if one arrived at the last minutes though.
