2-Stroke Electrical Generation?

I own a 50cc 2-stroke Derbi (Aprilia) "scooter" which looks more like a sport bike. I have plans to find a complete 125 - 250 engine from a dirt bike like a CR, RM, KX, or YZ for an engine swap. Yes, I understand major modification will be required. But these bikes have no lights, and my "scooter" does. I am not too knowledgeable about dirt-only bikes, but they obviously have an ignition system. Is there a way to tap into the generator for the lights on my bike?

If this works, it will be one wild ride! :yahoo:

The Yamaha WR series has a generator, just about any dirtbike with lights will have some sort of gen. Or, you can buy aftermarket from several sources . But, an engine with the parts already will probably cost less, ultimately...
