Been slowly updating my 85 FJ1100 lil at a time thanks to you guys and i couldnt be more happy with it so far  :good2: So i was wanting to change the mirrors on it as i dont like the stock placement of the mirrors. After reading what alot of guys did to the 1200 mirrors i thought i would give it a try as i couldnt find much on a 1100 fix .
So i started out with aftermarket CBR1000rr mirrors that where cheap to just see what i can come up with  :unknown: Well with the 1100 there mounted on the levers not the fairing which i dont like so had to figure how to mount them with out messing up the fairing . So pulled the fairing off and the cluster out to have a look ! Thought i could use the first two holes where the windscreen bolts are and add Alum back plates with expoy to keep it firm . After picking up some Alum and doing some cutting and shapeing got them mounted and well they looked ok and strong BUT just did not like the look or angle . Also couldnt get the Alum thin enough to get a good clamp down on the mirrors them self  :negative:
So then did some talking and reading and looking and found what i hoped would work ! Well found the a SV1000 had what i needed and might just be the fix ,so called on local bike salvage and found a good set i think are off the SV but not sure . Am sure the mounts are the same so for 20 bucks for good OEM mirrors i was game !  :good2: Well with lil work they fit PERFECT  :drinks: Only thing i had to do was drill ( very hard to do ) one hole for mounting but couldnt be happier about it ! Took the bike out over the weekend and they work great very lil vibration at 100mph do should be good to go ! Next will be updating frontend forks, wheel, brake and update rear wheel ,brakes !

Here are a few pics on the project ...

So is there anything reinforcing the fairing on the backside of the mount?
