G'day,
Have an un-registered FJ1100 that I got off a mate that I can't wait to register & spend some good riding time this summer in Tasmania.
been over 10 years since I've ridden a road bike, a 250 so the power & weight will be something I'll respect for sure.
I'll send in some pics once she's registered, is an original 84 model, just a few cracked bits of the fairings, starts first time, haven't put it through the gears yet.
the biggest question I have to aussie fj bikers out there is what fuel do you use for these, straight out the of the pump unleaded?
Catchya,
Ben

Welcome to the group.  :hi: There is a fellow member who is in Tasmania, I am sure he will chime in on your welcome.

For the fuel to use with your FJ. I am not sure how the Australians rate the fuel, here in the US the recommended fuel is 91-93 octane and try not to use fuel with Ethanol as an additive.

Fred
I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

:hi:Welcome Ben. It`s almost a crime not to have that 1100 registered for those fantastic Tassie roads. There are two FJ blokes on your island and both have lots of knowledge to assist. (keep your eye out for a PM - 1 of 9 buttons at the top of this page)

The ferry to the mainland are offering free transport tickets for your bike at the moment. I would absolutely love to see you & that beast at The Anniversary Rally in Jindabyne on March 8th...(http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=9788.0

Do you realise that FJ riders from every state are going...just to celebrate the birthday of your superb 84 model? ... Yep, and I`m pretty sure yours would be the only birthday boy there!...Mate, you have all FJ Australia crossing their fingers for ya. (seriously)

While the majority keep premium in the tank, any of the Aussie fuels run fine, just stay away from the 10% ethanol. ( I would definitely leave the premium in her over your winter)

Nice ta know we got 6 heads up for fj`s in Tassie now.

`93 with downside up forks.

Cheers guys,

She'll be registered by end of October so that rally might be a good way to see a few of these beasts in 1 go.

I'm at Burnie, mate has a FJ 1200, have been working on her for past month & mechanics/electrics are all working well so bring on summer!

I haven't seen a red & white on the road but will be keeping this 1 original, if it's not broke why fix it.

You are close mate & forgot about special interest regos. When she's legal best catch up & blow some cobwebs out of them.

Thanks mate, she'll be staying red & white too, keeping it original & have a brother who lives in LA, seems like a good place to spot a FJ or 2

Thanks mate,
Will be there in March, having a yarn with a bunch of FJ petrol heads & riding the roads around Jindabyne must be good for the soul.
