does anyone know for sure if the stock header down tubes on a 92FJ are stainless steel?
I'd like to have polished stainless pipes and want to ascertain before I go thru the trouble of removing the coating.  thanks

You ready for some bling?

I found a 12 step program for that......

2) Don't store your FJ with E10 fuel https://tinyurl.com/3cjrfct5
3) Replace your old stock rubber brake lines.

my 12 step program will include 12 beers. just not sure if it will be 12 beers per tube, or for all 4. :drinks:

I'm pretty hard headed, once I get moving in a direction on the look im after ...forget about it. I will overcome with my ignorance and inexperience. and beer.
I've been using diamond white polish with satisfactory results so far. what did you use to strip the coating off and what polish did you use?

Scott, I used a DA sander and 320 grit sand paper to remove the old paint.
Then wet sanded by hand up to 600 grit before turning to the buffing wheel.

Simichrome paste will need to step up production, Pat!

Ken,

1986-1993 all have the same Part Numbers for those pipes, and (I would assume) they are probably made from the same materials.
