i thought i would share... While i have several items off the bike i thought i would try this.. Rubber bushings, grommets, carb manifolds, a gasket or two.. seemed hard to me so i mixed xylene/xylol (same thing)  and canola oil 60/40 (xylol/canona) and let them sit...kept an eye on them each day...after 3 days all the smaller items where much softer than they where..the manifolds took a week to show a change..the thin gaskets, took one day.   SO...ive been watching them for a week now and they are all still soft (like new.)  Its seems the soak time is relative to the condition and density of item at the start.   Also, i Ass'ume that the mix % is a factor too.  I had read some suggested 80/20-70/30 but i was more cautious. Bottom line= it works.
89 FJ1200 saphire.blu owned 8-9 years.  By far the most satisfying of them all. Constant tinkering got me the best bike you could ever want.
