Thanks Fred. Its a clean one allright. Something went wrong with my photo transfer, and now you get to see all my pics !!! LOL.  :wacko3: The other bike was my incredibly clean 7k mile Seca 750 which I owned in Boston alongside the FJ, and hated to sell when I came home to Ireland. Probably the cleanest one in the USA, and I love those bikes.  That was my third one. My  FJ shared a container with my souped up Kawasaki ZRX 1200 which I also brough home.

Great looking fj mate, I also had a 750 seca ,awesome bike, handled brilliantly , , never could get the Huge red warning light to stop strobing  :lol: ever see knight rider  ,,
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

Thanks for the compliments. Re the Seca, not sure about the ``Awesome`` handling, that might just be rose tinted specs memories !!   LOL  :yahoo: Far and away the bikes worst fault was the wooden and totally ineffective brakes, double discs or not. Other than that, I loved them. Never had an issue with the red warning light, other than when fuel ran low and it got a little annoying. If I could get my mitts on another of these beauties, I would jump at it. But mint examples very rare.

Yeah, That's Murphs old bike. He sure knew how to maintain a machine ( AF training probably !! )  and I was proud to take it on, even though I already owned a nice white `88 at the time !!! ( Since gone to Canada ( Near Toronto )  and still in touch with that very happy owner  ). But I always loved the first edition and colors the best. You talk in past tense re Chris Murphys `92 FJ. Did he get rid of it ??? I have not seen him posting anywhere in an age. Anyone heard from him or what he is up to ???  I used to live near him when I lived in Boston and knew him quite well at one point.

Thanks Kurt. I work quite hard to keep it that way !!! I like the classic stock look best and have two other bikes where I can play around with upgrades etc, so never felt the need to modify this bike other than the tinted raised screen that came with the bike and the front braided lines. I have it quite nicely set up and it runs great at the speeds I want to ride at over here. I have little trouble keeping in ``reasonable`` touch with my brothers Aprilia Tuono Factory using the FJ`s massive torque to drive out of those narrow Irish country lanes. I have been riding FJ`s since 1986 so have kind of got the hang of them at this point !!   :good2:

CraigO The Mods fever has consumed my wallet with regards to my other bikes, so that satisfied me enough so that I was happy to leave the FJ well enough alone. Its hard to improve its looks in my opinion, and I like the twin pipe stock look. Makes it look balanced and pipes are very low and pillion friendly. The red and white paint scheme is one of the nicest color combos ever, and the bike looks squat and compact for a 1200. Gets an awful lot of compliments here when I pull it into my Sunday morning gathering spot in Laragh, Co. Wicklow. A lot of people come up to me remembering ``the good olde days`` and cannot get over the fact that the bike is 27 years old. Always owning a couple of other bikes, and being very busy with work meant I have been able to keep the mileage down too. Its still at 19,800  !!!!

.   Oh yes, the crap half cable, half hydrolic brakes, I stripped the lot , and fitted xj900 mc to  calipers, with braided lines. 120% improvement, , got the stickiest tyres I could , I wore two paires of boots out on that bike, had to calm down so bought the fj, if that makes sence,

I emailed with him a few weeks ago, but we didn't talk much about riding.  I think he's still suffering aftereffects from the Americade mishap a few years ago.

I believe he still monitors Yahoo group traffic occasionally, but he won't join here.
