I don't recall having heard of anyone here on this forum that has a Hagon shock. Most use a Penske or 1 from a Honda CBR600. If you want a sound investment go with the NEW RPM shock.

I'm out of the country on business but have one waiting for me to install at home on my newly acquired 85 1100. I'll let you know, but I can tell you it can't get any worse than the stock one with 26,000 miles on it. It was like riding on a pogo stick! absolutely no dampening to speak of no matter where you set the dial. I only rode it a few miles, it was downright dangerous.

I used a Hagon on my 1100 and it was great. They are also rebuildable unlike the original shock.
Anything would have been an improvement though because the main spring on the original shock had snapped and i didn't notice until i came to replace the shock.

OK back home and installed the new Hagon shock. Easy 30 minute job. Made a HUGE difference and I think the best description is it rides like a modern present day street bike. It also highlights the shortcomings of the stock front fork. (85 FJ1100) I still need to experiment with it but I think I need to up the compression dampening, at least for now to better match the front.

Hi, I just removed the Hagon shock from my 1989 FJ, I replaced it with one of Randy's shock's just yesterday 17 July.
I bought it two years ago and although it was a good improvement over the standard shock I was never comfortable with it and yesterday I found out why, it must've been leaking for some time as I could never get the damping to work properly. Unfortunately it is just over two years old therefore the warranty has run out. I honestly didn't think about any leaks as I have never had a shock leak in such a short time (15,000km) otherwise I would've checked months ago before the warranty ran out.

Maybe I just had a bad one, the good part is that from what I read Hagon honors their warranty. 

You'll hear this a lot in the future the RPM shock is worth the extra cash, I could never go back to a Hagon (or any other) after the change
