My bike was backed into(http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=10052.msg96433#msg96433). I was wondering if there's a guide of what to check after a dump. Is there a way to repair the cracks in the plastic fairing? Can I re-bend my clutch handle? Should I try to weld the mirror?

My 86' came with a welded mirror base from the PO, and I recently learned how to weld ABS plastic. I am happier with the CBR mirrors as I can see past my elbows. Not sure about the clutch lever. Bending it back may break it anyway, can't hurt to try though. Tipping it over in its self does not cause any issues other than the physical damage.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Plastex is the greatest stuff. Super easy to use. I've used it to fill in chunks that are missing. They give you a reusable molding bar. Just heat it up and form it off of a different piece. Stick it on the piece with the missing chunk and fill it with plastex. Wait a few minutes and take the mold off.  Sand it smooth the next day. And your good to go.

Just started using it so I don't know about durability yet. Did 3 chin fairings. So far. One has about 500 miles on it so far so good.
