Hey there guys,

I haven't done much posting here, mostly lurking, though I did occasionally post on the Yahoo group & the old Netpath mailing list. That's how I ended up going to the 1999 FJ Rally in NC near Deals Gap & meeting a bunch of great guys, Dean, Frank, Jeff, Henry, Carey, Eric & all the rest of them. So, I'm going to be out in Colorado, near Boulder  from July 6th-11th or so & was wondering if there would be any FJ riders around there to meet up & do a little riding? My wife & I lived out there from 1992-1995 & I still remember many of the good rides we had out there but that was a few years ago & things most likely have changed a bit so getting some local recon of the good rides to be had would be great. Any Denver/Boulder area riders interested in meeting up?

Alan,

Good to hear form you. I'd be glad to meet up with you to do a little riding. Have you done much up near Boulder? Lee Hill Drive maybe? What about a ride up to Trail Ridge Pass?

We definately should get together!

I've not heard of Lee Hill, but i have been over Trail Ridge Road (Rocky Mountain National Park) and the scenery is Spectacular! They patrol the national park though, with strict speed limit enforcement, so the riding itself is tame...........Theres lots of good riding roads up and down the front range, and further west.
You tell me how long and far you want to ride, and we can plan out a nice route for the day?

I know there are a couple other members in Denver area, maybe we can wake them up to join us.........

That would be great. The times I rode over Trail Ridge it was not for spirited fun through the park area, more for the scenery. Besides my Honda Hawk GT 647 felt more like a 250 single by the time we got to the top. I'd guess my FJ would feel like it too lost 2+ cylinders. If there are more riders available that would be great. I've got an old friend in Boulder who I hope will join us & it would be nice to meet other riders too. I'll PM you for more details.

Lee Hill drive heads West into the mountains from North Boulder, not a very long route but still fun. I'd also like to take a run up Magnolia Rd., West of Boulder up Boulder Canyon. Golden Gate Canyon was a nice ride. If you take 285 West off of I-470, then go South on Pine Valley Rd. it's a fun ride most of the way down to Colorado Springs.
