I arrived in Oxnard last week and will be working here through next Saturday.  Got today off and decided to explore some of the twisty lines on the GPS.

Mulholland Highway (from HWY 1) was pretty awesome in the Altima rental car.  Took it over to Westlake then to Potrero, which are also nice drives.  Tried to see the Lake Sherwood Dam, but too many gated communities in the way.  Googles up as a point of local interest but what's the point if you can't get to it?

Would really have liked to be on a bike on those roads!  Pulled over to let a few by me, lools like they were having a blast, was really jealous.

Guess I'll need to find my way out here one day with the FJ. You lucky bastards.....

Mulholland and Potrero are my back yard!  Very nice roads out here.  If you want a *very* twisty loop, go up PCH to Latigo Canyon up into the hills...then come back to PCH a little farther north on Decker Canyon.  I used test out my brake upgrades on my old Mitsubishi 3000GT on that run.  If I hadn't boiled the fluid by the time I got to PCH I knew the latest change was worth it!

I was out there in January for a few days for the first time.

I've gotta get back there with my bike.

Flying out of Palomar at night was pretty awesome, too...    :good2:

Yup.

Kinda reminded me of 'Wings'.

$100 limo ride from SD Gaslamp Qtr, though.    :shok:
