18/38 sprockets, power issues at high elevations?

Own a 92 FJ1200 since new.  Still searching for "6th gear" on the highway.  Considering changing sprockets to 18/38 but I'm concerned about power loss at higher elevations.  With an average elevation of 6,800' in Colorado, power loss is 20% compared to sea level due to the thin air.  The mountain passes average 10,000' where power loss rises to 30%. Anyone have experience with 18/38 gearing at these elevations?

I have changed my gearing to the 18t front and 38t rear sprockets. Where I live the elevation is 1300 ft. elevation and have not noticed any problem with a lack of power. I will be able to answer your question in 5 weeks. I am attending the Colorado FJ rally that will be in Gunnison CO. July 18-21
