After the rally last year I took my bike apart and fixed it up some and finally got it back on the road.

It must be fast cause on her maiden voyage I hit a bird and got blood on my forks..........

Try staying on pavement rather than flying up where the birds are.   :blum1:

Nice front fender.  Wheels look good too.  Are those Kawasaki wheels?

Travis398

Thanks for the comments guys, Yes Mark those are both Kawasaki wheels. 17x5.5 and 17x3.5  You probably remember I put the rear wheel on a couple of years ago.
I was waiting till I had to change the rear tire to paint the wheel black. I had the matching front all along just no way to use it, at the time.

At the rally CanD showed up with them FZ1 forks, Kev kept telling me how easy it was to install them, just machine out the triples a couple of mm.
So I started looking around and found some 05 forks with the triple tree. I realized I would save a boat load of money if I skipped the machining
of the triples and just installed the FZ1 triples instead. I installed some bars that are a little taller and wider than the stock ones and pulled back a tad more also.
I can't go much farther without extending the throttle cables.

I had a few issues to deal with to make the brakes and wheel work but over all everything went pretty well and the ride is a night and day difference, including one finger
front brakes, which I thought was impossible on a FJ.  Of course I have to use the FZ fender, but it seems way stronger than the FJ fender and is starting to grow on me.
I will probably see about painting it red in the future but for now I think I will just ride it the way it is.

Very cool, I actually like the front gaurd, its much nicer than the late model one I've fitted to effie
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Nice ride, I like the early years better.

Welcome, and nice Red and White!!! I like the ambulance colors, even better when they look that clean...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side
