Odd noise in rear wheel / chain and sprocket area

New chain and sprockets about 800 miles ago.

chain tension correct, chain correctly aligned to the marks on the swing arm.

Wheeled the bike into the garage last night, there was a noise that sounded similar to that of worn chain and sprockets. I removed the sprocket cover, I could here and feel this noise when I had my hand on the rear wheel and on the front sprocket.

I took the chain off of the rear sprocket, rotated the wheel, no noise. Rotated the front sprocket, no noise. Put it all back together, no noise.

I was almost convinced that the output shaft bearing for the front sprocket was knackered.

Any thoughts anyone?

1) Check the bearing in the Cush drive hub.
2) A loose chain is a happy chain.

Did the same, had the same type noise. Loosened the chain and all is good now  . Is your bike at the stock height or has it been raised in the rear ? Mine was raised up during the GSXR rear wheel conversion and the chain has to have a good 1 1/4 inch (31 -32 mm) or so of slack while measured on the side stand.
Just over loosen it a bit and see if the noise go's away. If so then you are on the right track.
