Thanks for all of the help and info. I am the proud second owner of a 1987 FJ1200. Flew down do the land of zombies and cutthroats known a Southern California to pick it up. After a quick carb cleaning, I'll be riding it and hanging out around here for a week before a circuitous route home (ride report conveniently posted in ride reports) to Sisters, Oregon.

Looking forward to connecting us with other inmates.

If you bring your bike a little North I can show you some real nice roads. I live very near where the 210 and the 2 intersect. Angeles Crest Hwy rocks (and pine cones, just don't ask Klavdy). Hang out at Newcomb's ranch and see what bikes are there, maybe J. Leno will show up as he does on occasion. Or Little Tujunga Cyn to Sand Canyon then up Bouquet canyon. Might get a few more SoCal locals to show up as well.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Congrats on getting the FJ sounds like a great bike. After rebuilding the carburetors don't forget to sync them.

If you come to my house we can sync your carbs as well.

Congratulations ! Sounds like it didn't take to much to get it serviceable. I would touch bases with FJmonkey. A few min. of his time could make all the difference. He has a lot of experience with red and white FJ's.... :yahoo: :yahoo: :bye2:

Congrats Jeff. Glad the Ambulance only needed minor tweeking. I highly recommend taking up FJmonkey's offer for a ride to Newcombs Ranch. You will most definitely enjoy the ride.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....
