I just stopped by to say hello. Two weeks ago I purchased a 1990 FJ. I did a lot of research on line before I bought it. I plan on cutting down on my work weeks next year and doing some long tours and this seems to fit the wishlist. I didn't want to push around 1000lbs of GoldWing, and my other thoughts were a Majesty or a Burgman 650 touring scooter, both of which seem to be relatively expensive to maintain. (I have a 250cc Chinese touring scooter, easy to work on and fun around town).. Oh, and by the way, on the scooter boards they mention that they love getting the wave from riders of "real" bikes. When they don't wave back, it's mostly because they are surprised.  I used to do a lot of highway travel on a 1976 KZ750 when they were new. Big enough, air cooled. Not as screamingly fast and as fun as the FJ. Anyhow, thanks for all the info before my purchase, and in advance for the info and fellowship I plan on enjoying in the next few years. I don't currently have much to do on the FJ, since the PO already put cone filters on, vibranators, valves were adjusted a few months back, rear suspension modded, case savers, etc. Looking underneath, it has never been scraped into the deep curvies (some of you may think that's a bad thing, I know). 58k miles, but garaged when not in use, so clean paint and decals, and LED tail light n rear blinkers. If someone has a pic or two of highway pegs mounted up, I'd like to see it.
Anyhow, keep the shiny side up n the rubber side down and good riding to you all.

Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...

Welcome to the forum,

I have a 90 as well and is the 3rd 90 (3CV) I've owned. Great bikes, easy as can be to work on and a great set of mods to upgrade her to the 21st century. Do you have the Silk White or the Midnight Blue? I've owned both colors and the silk white seems to get the traffic to move over. Must be that they mistake it for a cop bike.  :pardon:

Post a pic or two and give us a shout out if you need any help with anything. There is someone here that has done it, fixed it or is working on it. Or, just tell us about your trips on her.

Enjoy,

CraigO

I see you posted a moniker, same color as my current bike. Nice  :good:

Welcome to the group!

I'm sure you will have lots of fun and good times on your new FJ!

the best looking/functional highway pegs ive seen on the FJ were the clamp on style and they were clamped onto the renntec engine bars available from RPM (link in vendors section)

Kookaloo!
