Just wondering if it,s ok to remove these . Will it have any effect on the bike?

The entire airbox or just the two ducts on either side? The two small ducts should have no effect as far as I can tell. Removing the airbox also removes the filter. You really want a filter, what you put back on might affect the carb settings. I put UNI pods on and Suppertrap slip-ons so jetting was changed as well. If your not changing your pipe then you may not need to play with your carbs.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Just the two snorkels either side is all i want to take  away. I am just looking for a little space for the small relay that goes with the coil mod.
Filter and air box will be the same.

At the recommendation of a mechanic friend, I pulled mine out a few years ago to increase air flow into the air box.  I haven't noticed any ill effects.  My friend told me that the purpose of the snorkels was to help quiet the bike down.  I haven't really noticed any difference in noise level myself, but it does seam to help the bike breath better, especially at higher elevations.
