Welcome!
I see there's no point in warning you with the hazards of entering the modding stage, since you clearly already have been bitten by the bug  :good:

Whant to check out my photos on the bike??

"rear shock Wilbers 643 Q for Suzuki GSXR1000 with stronger spring"  :wacko1:

Harry,
Very interested in the use of the GSXR 1000Rear Shock.  From the pic it looks like a 2008 shock might be close to bolting on.  What did you need to do to mount it?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello Jeff
Before the Wilbers i used a original rear shock from a GSXR 1000 k2(spring rate 7,8kg/mm )with a racetech spring (9,0kg/mm).The linkage is from a FZR1000 exup (same as Thunderace1000).With the 18'' rear wheel I used also the original dog bones from this model(165mm from hole to hole). Now with 17'' i use dog bones with 163mm.
The top bushing of the rear shock is only 10mm diameter(FJ 12mm), so you will need stepped bushes one side with 12mm to fit into the  FJ frame shock mount, the other side I think about 17mm diameter wth a throughout of 10mm.
Please measure how thick each section has to be,I forgot it,.The shock bottom fits to the FZR linkage(trilobe ???) without modify.
The worth thing of using the GSXR shock is,you have to remove the center stand with the frame mount and you have to create a new battery box to lay the battery.
This description is not for FJ1100 und first FJ1200 swingarm. Plaese correct me if I use wrong expressions.
Gruß Harry
