Hi all , would anyone know the dimensions for an Fj fork brace, I think the forks are 62mm for the leg mounts ?? But can't get an acurate distance between the forks without a decent vernier
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Arnie

Rod,
Measure the distance between centers of the holes on a top triple clamp.  OR, the distance between the left side of the holes.  You'll still want a vernier to get it accurate.

Hi Rod,

been there done that, according to my vernier measurements and FJMonkey's CAD drawings, the hole centres are at 210.5mm. There was a bit of variation in my forks, i got btween 210.2mm and 210.5mm depending on where I measured but I have an aftermarket top clamp which might have thrown my measurements out.

cheers,

James

Of course you could just buy one off the shelf at RPM. You know, that guy Randy that has all those cool aftermarket FJ items. Yeah, him. This is what you're looking for, nice and neat:

Merry Christmas,

Hopefully someday soon. The machine shop that made them originally will not make me anymore. I took the brace & drawings to three machine shops more than three weeks ago. I guess none of them want my business because I have not heard back from any of them.

When I call I get a variety of excuses. It just amazes me that if this country is in such a financial down turn they are not beating down me door at the opportunity to make money. I will keep looking for the machine shop that has the same, or similar, work ethic I have.

Randy,

Try these guys. I worked with them when I bought prototype machined parts for a company I used to work for. I think the guy's name is Greg/ owner and operator. He did some great work for us, but that was some 15 years ago.

Couldn't hurt.

But also on that note, I'll bet a dollar against doughnuts that the Monkey knows a place even closer to you. He is current in the machined parts business.  :good2:

fj11.5-   the correct measurements are:
41mm tube diameter (we knew that one)
62mm- mounting diameter
210mm- center distance
I obtained these measurements from a company in Europe, but for the life of me I cant find their name.

It might have been Tarozzi. They make a brace for the FJ1100 (part #25-0033) I assume these will also fit the 1200. They are available from Fast From The Past, for $99. I have one of their braces fitted to my FZR forks  and it seems to be well made and very functional.   Pete.

If obtainable, the will cost around 150$.
