82lb Barnett pressure plate springs

I am thinking of replacing the springs in my Barnett Presure plate with Randys 82 lb springs.

Has anybody used these and if you have just how much effect has it had on the clutch pull ?

I don't want to have to start lifting weights just to be able pull the clutch lever  (popcorn)

I have kleptomania,
but when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Don't know what the standard Barnett springs are - are they slipping?  If you need / want more static pressure - you can use 2, 3 or 4 of the heavy duty springs (in a symmetrical pattern) to get more pressure than now, but not as much as the full set.   

you will want to make sure the hydraulics are in tip top shape to deal with the added pressure too.

Standard are 75lb,

I am not having any clutch problems per se, I am replacing the factory pro indent kit with Randys better one and because I am in there am putting in new plates because I can, so I thought I would consider the 82lb springs.

My master is in very good condition, I put a kit in it a few years back.

yes I was thinking along your lines of the mix and matching of springs to get the feel I like

 I've the standard 75lb springs in my 1350cc and they're holding up fine.
In your clutch pack, did you remove that snap wire and take out the cushion spring so you can use a full size friction plate?
If so, then you should be fine, if not, you really want to do that....really.

Hi Pat,

Yep ordered all the right plates from Randy to do the thick plate conversion.

I am only thinking about the springs as I heard that the standard springs soften over time and they have had 8 years of good service, I don't think they are a problem.

It's just one of those things that cross your mind when you start digging into an area of the bike you wonder what you can do when your there.

I suspect I will will do the shift kit and the new plates and see how it goes.
