Tool Time (for chains)

I trust everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

If you ever grow tired of having to pay a shop to install a new chain, I have a suggestion.

I purchased new sprockets from Raduechel Performance Motorsports; aka R.P.M. (and found a source for the chain itself). As usual first class service with no hassle in ordering and very prompt delivery.

Anyway, I also used the Chain Riveting Tool that RPM also offers and it is nifty! Well designed and very heavy duty, it made quick work of riveting the new master link in place. It also presses out the old link by simply reversing the inner part of the tool, quite ingenious. And clear & concise instructions as well.

No doubt it will soon pay for itself, and much like owning a pick-up truck, it will keep you in touch with your friends when ever they need help moving stuff (using your truck) or replacing their chain on their bike. Or adding links when they install larger sprockets to impress with their friends with wheelies...!

And hey, it comes in a cute little heavy denim bag with a draw string that you can use to put a few extra tools and complete your on the road tool kit!.

I think the only negative is that the bag only comes in blue, not color coordinated in red, which may disappoint FJ Monkey...!

Have a safe weekend,

Mike Ramos.

I think tools are always a good investment. This is something you will have for years and your kids could end up using.
