A 7-year-old orphan boy here named Marko has been talked about much here in our community. He passed away this morning. He had serious medical needs, but the doctors could not determine exactly what his problem was. He had heart surgery last November and work on his liver and kidneys. A missionary team here was doing what they could for Marko, visiting him daily. A main problem was that the person in charge of the orphanage was being difficult to deal with when trying to help the boy. She was quoted as saying, "The children live here and die here." She would stall at offers to get him to hospitals in Budapest (all expenses paid). Continual hesitations on allowing adoption.

Very sad situation. R.I.P., Marko.

Children must not die...it's against the natural order of things.
At least this is what I believe.
Marko looked like a great little guy...so sad this happens more than we actually know.

Very sad indeed..........Frustrating, to say the least, that someone would deny him hospital access........ :ireful:
When I hear about situations like this, I think of my own children, and how I would give anything for them and their well being. It's sad that noone would do the same for this child.
In the pictures, he looks happy, but I'm sure his life was not filled with happiness........

Thanks for posting..........At least some of his rays of sunshine will reach over here.

I find it very hard to comment with tears of sadness (and anger!!) in my eyes, for this and every other child that can be found in similar situations around the world. Mankind has a lot to answer for....R.I.P. Marko.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!
