Hello all, I will be doing the blue dot caliper upgrade. I've read through several posts on them and am just looking for verification from more experienced personnel. 2000-2001 Yamaha YZF-R1 YZF R1 calipers will bolt up to my forks right?(93 fj1200 abs) And can I use the stock mounting bolts? I would also like to install braided steel brake lines and a 14mm m/c. from what I've read this mod is the cats meow! can anyone who has successfully done this please tell me where I should get the braided lines from? Oh I will also be installing the Galfer knockoffs. Thanks in advance.

I've just bought lines from Venhill in the UK, they are half the price of Spiegler, have adjustable banjos and they offer 2 or 3 line setups and all the usual accessories.
I would definitely buy lines with adjustable banjos , to guarantee no twists.

The standard calipers have an angled banjo, the blue dots have straight ones.

They offer an FJ kit which I ordered (with the straight banjos) thinking the lengths would be spot on but they were too long, way to long, so you are better off to measure the lengths yourself.
There is info somewhere on the forum as to suggested lengths.

To get the most from this upgrade, you will want to fit EBC HH brake pads, not to be confused with other EBC pads, must be HH.

Yes, they bolt straight on and you can use the existing mounting bolts.

This is a very common upgrade and there is a ton of info on the forum.

fj11.5

you will love the upgrade , 14mm mc is a huge improvement over standard, I had one to start with but now using a 16mm brembo one, , 1 finger stopping power, not better than a 14 just easier lever movement
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne
