Strange search function

I've been getting strange search results on these forums lately.
When I search for something, a phrase like "heated grips", I get 32 pages of results.
But most of these posts does not contain either of these words... quite strange.
Same thing happens when I type "Hepco Becker".
Strange indeed. Is it my computer bugging me?
Same thing happens when I search using the advanced search function.

I haven't been able to use boolean functions (and or not etc) either, the search function isn't terribly robust it seems.

So, I use the easy option.

I use this search and then I add to it what I'm looking for with proper modifiers.

Adding heated grips gives me very little discussion though, as seen here, but it's a little better.  A lot of the results appear to be replies to a subject line that had those keywords in it.

I also get 30 pages of results for almost any query I put in from tires to dogbones. Hard to get precise data but I enjoy digging through all the modi threads at the moment so I don't mind to terribly at the moment.

Same thing here, no hits on the search words but lots of unrelated stuff.
