250 mile ride

Saturday I went on a fund raiser ride sponsered by my employer. We had about 30 bikes. My FJ was the only non cruiser or full dress bike. Rode from Wichita, KS to Independence, KS. A funny thing happened during the ride. The weather was not that great. A steady mist and light drizzle. After 250 miles round trip. Except for my arms, I remained dry, even my pant legs below my knees. Most all of the Harley and cruiser riders had soaked legs.

That's most likely engine oil.

Not much Kookaloo in that group, eh?  How many times did you find yourself waiting for them to catch up?

Or did you keep it under 4000 RPM the whole time?

I have gone on a couple charity rides. The harley guys would ride for a little bit and stop for a smoke. In a hundred miles must have stopped five times, ride seemed to take forever. Glad you made a strong showing for the FJ's.  FJ looks good Fred.

I've ridden in a few events like this, as well, and it is painful riding with the 2-wheeled LAzy boys!
They have ruined it so much for me that I have reserved myself to either going with my son for a ride, or go solo.
I guess that's why the FJ rallies are so special to me now.

My hats off to you for representing the FJ in fine fashion though!

Its fairly well known, but then again in my defence im quite well educated (read eclectic) musically speaking!

Although in hindsight i should have quoted White Stripes - Seven Nation Army as it references both Wichita and the Queen of England.  But seeing as that a fair number of folks on here are 'of a certain age' i figured i would hedge my bets with Glen Campbell/Johny Cash.
