Turned my key on and no lights. I heard clicking but can't remember if it was before or after I tried start button. So bike is dead.
I hooked up my start/charger and the guage said the battery was fully charged.
I jump the bike. It started and ran fine even even while disconnected from the jump box.
Shut it off a few min later and still theres no power with key on.

The day before I was swapping out brake and signal bulbs for leds. They werent bright enough so I swapped em back. Also repaired the left front signal lens screw plate (the interior plastic mold of the fairing that the lens screws into), so am not sure if I jarred something loose behind the fairing while reaching underneath.

Was unable to troubleshoot this because had to get to work, which is where I am right now.
Any advice will be welcomed.

Thanks.
John

Thats a start. Thanks. Is that ign connection inside the left fairing, by chance? That would not surprise me.

DEAD BATTERY!!!!!

What is the battery voltage while cranking?  Even a dead battery can still show 12 volts with no load. The fact that it worked after being jumped should confirm battery. It takes much more current to start than to run

I had the same problem. New battery reading 12 V but would not put enough current out to start. Called and got a replacement battery and it's been great ever since. If you can jump start it then I say it's most likely the battery.  Good luck :)..

Hm. Coulda swore the previous owner said it had a new battery, but I looked at a lot of bikes before buying this. Could be remembering wrongly. Didn't have time to investigate so am going to do that when I get home, despite the fact it will be 12AM. The thing started fine yesterday, though. Guess theres only so many starts in a battery. Hope thats all it is. If I wasn't moving wires and plugs around yesterday, I guess I wouldn't be so concerned. Afraid I gotta tear the fairing off to get at a bad connector is all .

Thanks much.

Well that was easy. Battery terminals had slight corrosion. just enough to elude first glance and hinder electron flow. Clean now. Bikes got all the powerr it needs.
