Hi Guys,

I need to find new Front rotors for my 93 FJ1200 non-ABS.
All of the distributors here in Canada are on backorder.

Any thoughts on where to get them ?

Also anybody tried those fancy wavy rotors that are available?

Anybody know of other Yamaha models that these rotors were available on (Vmax, TDM, etc..) just in case I have to buy used rotors.
I'm running out of dough .....

Thanks in advance guys.

Hey, Mick.  I paid $189 (free shipping) for a pair of the Chinese "wave" rotors last winter.  Have about 4500 miles on them  with no problems.  I've heard several good reviews of them, only one bad review.

I feel your pain, brother!

I've also purchased the Chinese wave rotors no problems so far

Can you let me know where you got yours from and what the part number was ?
And did you replace the pads when you put the rotors on ?

Maybe you could let me know what pads you used if that's the case.

Cheers !

LA Mike has the Galfer knock-offs and has been happy with them. So I got a set and have no problems with less than 2K on them. Here is the link for them on Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/saveyourbuy

You can see what I installed in this thread. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=6584.msg58165#msg58165

This is where I bought the rotors. Just do a search for FJ rotors and get the ones made for a 93.

I did install new pads with the rotors - Carbone Loraine.  I believe the pads of choice on this forum are EBC HH sintered metal pads.  I'm sure you'll be getting more replies on this one.

Like FJ Monkey and LA Mike, I've got the Chinese Galfer copies, similiar km's to FJ Monkey about 2000 since fitting. EBC HH sintered pads and now S/S braided lines. No issues with the chinese rotors.  :good2:  I'm fat and so is the FJ, they get a work out!  :good2:

For anyone still reading this thread I will say that of the ones I bought the offset is a little too much like say maybe 1 mil but doesn't seen to affect braking. I have R6 blue dots with FJR master and braided lines off eBay from a company called Wezmoto. Pretty decent lines and reasonably priced and he will custom make too. Brakes work great definatley an improvement.
