It's time for a new paint job. Was wondering if anyone new the easiest way to remove the decals?

i know the 89 model i have here, the owner simpy peeled them  off  (popcorn)
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

Did mine last year with a 3M Eraser wheel on a cordless drill. It worked great. Keep the rpm's low so you don't burn the abs plastic.

I just used a heat gun. Just warm them up and pull off. Might be able to use a hair drier. If you need a cheap heat gun, get a 20% off coupon for Harbor Freight and they sell one that works just fine. Just take a little time, if you notice the decal bubbling you are using way to much heat.

+1 these can work really well, but as Pat said, the can be used to te point of damage if you are nootka careful. I have also seen pressure washers do this amazingly well (accidentally on my son's CRF80) so you may want to try that...

I did mine this spring.  Rubbed the decals down with brake cleaner and just sanded them down with 400 grit sandpaper. After the decal was pretty much gone, rub it down again with brake cleaner and take a razor ro scrape off the glue.  Worked quite well.  You will have to sand the plastic anyway to scuff it.
