Dropped the fuel tank off for repair. First thing I noticed is that it was  treated with a sealer once before and the quality of the work is low. The sender was treated also so I ordered a new one from my dealer. The tank will need painting now and I am curious if anybody knows the names of the colors on the 86 fj1200? And, if the paints are still available thru Yamaha. The white on the tank has a silver pearl look to it. The fenders had a metallic red but I have had them matched to the red on the tank which is a basic Gaurds red. I also repainted the red on the side panels. The bike is looking good and hopefully will be running as well as it looks next week.

I believe those colors are the same as the '85 which are Stormy Red and Sliky White.  Try the Color Rite website for more info.
