Hello everyone,   I have been on this site looking for a couple years now. I bought an  84 FJ two years ago.  Bike is completely stock except windscreen.  I love to ride it,but not enough time and worry it could get expensive(tickets).  Its hard to ride the speed limit.  I am not sure if I should keep and start mods or sell and try to find better one with Corbin, stainless lines, exhaust etc. Any members round southern WI?

Welcome Hawk!  Are you near the Coulee Region? If so you have some of the best roads this side of the Mississippi or that side, I'm from Southern MN (Rochester)... Not sure what advice to offer with your scoot, I have an '84 also and really enjoyed updating it myself.  The FJR club is having a rally in LaCrosse this summer (June I think...) I thought it might be fun to crash it!

I live just south of Sheboygan.  If you decide to sell, let me know.  I'm shoping within the next month or so.

Great area!  I've been to the soup run in Fond du Lac (http://webpages.charter.net/rmilanowski3298/soup_run.htm) but 2010 was his last year...  and last year I took the Ferry from Manitowoc and made a loop around the UP of Michigan on my bike.  Sorry, don't think I'll sell the FJ soon, but I'll keep you in mind if I do.  I don't think stock FJ's are worth more than one updated with SS brakes adn a pipe etc... you can always keep the stock parts if that is a concern.  Also doing the work yourself ensures (hopefully) that the job is done correctly.  Or... some on the list might say keep the stock bike and purchase another...

Welcome to the group!

Hard to say about modding...... it really comes down to your attachment to the bike.

KOokaloo!

I failed to notice that you had an 1100.  I'll be looking for a bit newer and a 1200.  Start shopping in earnest next month.  I don't need a modded bike, but if it is, that is fine with me, especially a Corbin gunfighter and lady seat, bags, and perhaps better tires, brakes, exhaust, and shock.
