Greetings,

I had to pull the top end off after some recent mods to check things out.  It all went back together ok and starts just fine but the oil level light won't go out.  the switch checks out in accordance with the shop manual and there is plenty of oil in it.  I'm assuming there's something going to ground somewhere but couldn't find anything.  the starter switch isn't sticking either.  any suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks

If you unplug the sender does the light go out?

If not you have pinched the wire someplace. If it goes out then the send is bad.

Check the chain guard & oil filter housing.

Damned easy to catch the lil bastard in there when you put the oil filter housing back on.  I think I ended up just giving up and rerunning a long setion so that I could route the oil sensor and neutral switch wiring away from the stupid oil filter.
