Does anyone have suggestins to what brand or shade of gold spray paint matches up with the gold on the '89 FJ's.  I'm looking to paint a brake caliper and possibly a sprocket.

thanks,

Mark

Gold dots don't need painting.  :shok: And work great too. Go get all the gold paint that looks close, do some tests. Remember the color of the primmer under will change the shade of gold. I would think gold sprocket would be hard to keep clean. Paint is cheap at wally world.

Yes, someday, gold dots up front.  This is for a GSXR rear caliper...  you can probably figure out the rest of the story now.  :i_am_so_happy:

I think it's a computer generated virus.

Hello Mark, I used a shade of gold on my blue FJ, called K&H Drum Disc & Caliper paint, Bright Gold. I'm not sure if you have K&H aerosol paints over there, but thats what I did my GSXR caliper and disc with. Its very bright to start with, but then goes darker. Have a look at a couple of photos of my GSXR wheel swap listed below in my sig, not sure how close it is to what you want,  :drinks:

Thanks Ray.  I was able to find the K& H on line and for $8 for a can. Unfortunately shipping was $16 so I'm going to look locally for that or a similar product.  I didn't even think to look for disc and caliper paint.  I didn't know they made such a specific type of paint.  I knew that brakes get hot and I wanted to paint my brakes but never put the two together.  I don't' know if regular spray paint would peel off due to the heat but I'd rather not find out.
