I was browsing through some old photos and came across a few of me on my first bike.. I noticed that the subconcious is a funny old thing - although I sold the Honda when I was 18, and didn't buy the FJ until 10 years later, without really thinking about I ended up buying a bike that looks uncannily like my first bike, with all the features - more power, chiefly, that the little honda missed...

It's too bad that the "Wet Pale Brown" color scheme wasn't available in the U.S.  I think I like it best out of the stock Yamaha colors. (Sorry, red/white and red/silver lovers!)

I find it "soothing" to look at. Nice bike.

Yeah, a 1987 VT250FG. Was a good first bike, light, enough horsepower for fun but not enough to get into too much trouble. Looked pretty good parked at my school bike rank next to all the scooters I must say..

Just looking at it now, the front headlight fairing is nearly identical to the FJ with the incorporated indicators, headlight position and the way the screen mounts. The chin fairing is very similiar too, overall the lines are just very similiar.
