rounded caliper bolts

Today I hammered an imperial socket onto my front right caliper, after some previous owner couldn't be bothered to buy / use the correct size tool in the first place and rendered the bolt heads useless.

Came off quite easily in the end, much to my surprise.

I had a similar problem with disc bolts , welded old sockets to them and out they came,  (popcorn)
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it
