If it's not broken, fix it anyways

Arnie

Great job there, congratulations.
Not only did you update the wheels, forks, and brakes, you even fixed the exposure.

Cheers,
Arnie

That looks real nice. One thing though, those white wheels and you are going to spend a lot of time together. Keeping them clean is a pain in the ass!!!. I HIGHLY recommend using sintered HH pads in your brakes. The semi metallic and organics really trash them w/ brake dust.

Great Job again.

Merry Christmas,

I really like these before and after threads.
It shows the love the riders put into their machines.
It also was one of the things I like doing with mine, from time to time, is to look back and see what it used to look like.
The white wheels really work well on this color scheme.
Well done.

Thanks!

I sometimes want to get another bike... something newer but I would NEVER get rid of the FJ.
too much time, money and sweat went into this bike
If it's not broken, fix it anyways

Very, very nice Clay!  That is the nicest red/white combo I have ever seen, and all your Mods are top shelf.
Don't worry about your white wheels (I know you're not) folks said that my polished wheels would be a PIA to maintain which is not true.

Kudos!

I disagree.  White wheels are a big pain in the back side.  My Gixxer has white wheels and keeping them clean is a part time job.  I use Simple Green (good stuff!) like it's going out of style.

I'm pretty sure that some Japanese engineer still held a grudge about Hiroshima/ Nagasaki when they dreamed that little number up...

You may want to reconsider, or buy knee pads...

I thought knee pads were mandatory for everyone over 50 who has bikes..?... Simple Green is still cheaper than a kilo of this stuff...

Thanks Pat

I should put together a list of all the updates.
I may not have the most up to date front end or swing arm as some do on here but I try to maintain a strong interest and pride in my FJ as many on this site do,
I do ALL my own work from changing tires on the rims or balancing them to rebuilding my motor and setting up the shim under bucket and Megacycle cams.

Great job to ALL on this site and their love for the FJ series.
