I'm having electrical issues on my 86. My headlight is very dim and honk is very quite unless i rev up the engine. I put in a brand new battery this summer and there should be enough power. Does anyone have the same problem?

Thanks,
Alex

check voltage at the battery, just because it's new don't mean you or it haven't drained it.
Then if it starts check it again at idle, then check it with some RPMs.

Turn the idle speed up to 1100 RPM.

My 86' does not have that problem..After installing my HID kit it looks like the sun is shooting out my headlight. I noticed a few other things, I seem to have an absence of bugs hitting and sticking to the bike. Might coincide with the small but brief flashes of them vaporizing when they enter the blazing bright beam of my HID light.... :good:

Check all the connections for corrosion, clean the switches and use dielectric grease on all connections.....  worked for my '90.  Any corrosion will create resistace, resistance = voltage drops.
