It is a sad, sad day :(

The time has come for me to end my foray in the land of the rising sun and perfect roads with the return to my home country, the land of hot sun and long straight roads (well not all of them) Australia.
Today was a very emotional day for me because due to the current tight ass state of affairs that the Australian import laws are in, my FJ will be staying here in the motherland :empathy:

I enjoyed my last blast this afternoon by abusing the freedom given to road users here by the police with some reckless lane splitting and very silly expressway speeds. My only regret is that I didn't have a go pro.

I wont be getting another FJ as soon as I get home unless someone has a full house 3CV in Melbourne they want to get rid of cheap... Anyone????
I will probably settle for whatever I can find that tickles my fancy in the appropriate price range.
In saying this, when I get back on the job I plan on doing another FJ properly from the ground up (1314 engine, USD forks, thunder ace swingarm W/ penske etc) and I look forward to spending many hours on here searching and question asking in the foreseeable future.

If I may suggest to you all, do yourself a favor and get your ass to Japan, on the seat of a bike, and ride with vigor. There is a reason they make arguably the best bikes in the world, I personally have had the time of my life carving the place up.

I leave you now with these images.

The bike when I first took ownership.

Me and the bike today when I said goodbye. :sorry:

Cheers,

Ben.
Life's pretty straight without twisties.

I'll be the first to say thanks for the posts and pics of your adventures there. You did an awesome job fixing up your FJ. My day is also coming sometime also, just like yours. I will have to leave my FJ here in Hungary when I return to the U.S. (who knows when...).

I wish you the best. We all hope you find another FJ, but find what matches your riding style and price range. Sounds like you'll be looking for an R1. Obviously, you are always welcome here. :good2:

Ben....very sad state of affairs that!

On another note.....Waricle Pete is selling his FJ.... its a red and silver '89 I believe. I have ridden the bike..... runs fine and looks pretty good with the paint job Pete did on it.....just a thought.
I could probably even be persuaded to ride it down to Vic.....lol.

OH yes......welcome home!

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
