New Oil Tem Gauge (again)

This time I got one that WORKS. It was only about $45. I just installed it - it works GREAT. No bike vibrations disturb the needle at all. It has some sort of "stepper motor," whatever that is. It seems like a digital transfer to the indicator somehow. My last gauge was destroyed by the vibrations within a couple days. Even the needle broke off. But that one was too long and the back was against the frame under the panel. The biggest problem with this one is that the display is only back lighting. When it is powered off, the face goes black. Bad idea for the sunny days, but it is readable if you look closely.

The brand is "Depo." Here is their website: http://www.deporacing.com/

Thank you for the pics / video / information on that gauge.  It looks sweet!  My VDO oil temp gauge ( http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=2362.msg18730#msg18730 ) needle does bounce around a lot while riding.  I really like yours!  Does it work fine with the previous temp sender that you had installed before?  Or did it come with a new one?

It came with a new sender, but I just wired it up to my existing wiring from the old gauge - works perfectly.

As stated, the biggest problem would be seeing it well on bright sunny days. So I guess it's recommended for the FJ riders in Seattle. :sarcastic:

It does come with a small light shield, but it would not help me in the location I put the gauge. On a car's dashboard would be fine.
