 A couple of years ago I bought a cheap ignition switch from ebay for my FJ. After installing it, I found it worked perfectly, except for the fact that the steering lock didn't work. I found that the lock pin didn't line up with the locking hole in the steering head. I ended up adjusting the hole with a die grinder and carbide bur. Your ignition switch maybe an aftermarket copy and has got the same problem that I had.    Pete.

Ok so I got it to work finaly. This is what I noticed. you MUSTNT press the key deeper. Secondly I think the alignment is skrewed as you have to put the key at a slight angle then just turn and it works perfectly. I find this out after I accidentally locked it then couldnt unlock the steering..
