Well,
Apparently, the state of California and my county have decided the registration fees are going to resolve the budget crisis...

I got the registration for my wife's FJ today...

Wait for it...

... :unknown:

:shok:$133.00 :shok:

I just paid for my one ton box van yesterday on the 31st and it was $160.00, which I did not figure was too bad for a commercial vehicle.

I guess since they cannot work within the balanced budget they passed, the other fees must compensate for it...

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians... :scratch_one-s_head:

Motorcycle registration (renewal)
The cost of motorcycle registration renewal will vary depending on the cubic capacity (engine size) and the postcode of the motorcycle's garaged address. The following is an example only:

Motorcycle - metro area Engine capacity
Fee
Engine capacity less than 61cc $114.20

Engine capacity greater than 60cc but less than 126cc $336.40

Engine capacity greater than 125cc but less than 501cc $433.20

Engine capacity greater than 500cc $577.30

Randy, be thankful you don't live in Oz come rego time. The above is copied straight from the Govt. website.

In Indiana, plate fees are calculated by years old, and book value.

So the ol' FJ is down to around $50...     :i_am_so_happy:

You gotta move out of the metro area!
My last rego on the FJ was $444.40  (only?? )
My other bike of litre size cost $376.60

I can only guess why the difference unless they credit me with already having paid the "motorcycle safety levy" on the FJ.

I didn't realize what a DEAL I was getting from VicRoads, sheesh!

The Oz fees make me afeel that we are getting off easy, hope CA does not know of this.

1987 FJ = $128 and 2008 Warrior = $170 for a motorcycle registration tax, I mean fee, of $298 per year.

:shout:Of course this does not include the two cars which more than doubles this. :shout:
