I just recieved my new starter motor yesterday, bolted it into place, and the bike fired up instantly!   :good2: The old two brush starter motor is already growing grass through it's bolt holes in the back lawn...  :diablo:

RPM racing? definite thumbs up on service, price, and delivery.

While I have been trying to synch the carbs, there is a distinctive knocking from the engine, the "about to stall noise".  I adjusted the idle screw without much help, it just revved it's tits off!  I will try the idle screws at 2.5 turns out once the bike cools and see if that helps.

All else on the bike is great, I did the relay adaption to the coils, carbs are clean, diaphragms are good.  any ideas would be great.

cheers.

Squeaky wheels always get the grease...

If there is no middle ground, it may be that you have a intake leak.  Make certain your intake boots are seated properly, and not cracked etc.  You can test this by spraying starter fluid on the boots with the bike running.  If the motor revs up when doing so, you have an intake leak.

A motor that revs up is getting extra air. Fuel alone will not cause an increase in rpm. Air will.
