Can anyone tell me if the rear shocker of a 94 model will fit on an 86 please.

I'm pretty sure that the 86 uses an eye on the lower end of the shock.  The 94 is a clevis end.  You can easily check on the parts diagrams that are online at www.yamaha.com

Arnie is correct.  '84-'87 used an eyelet all later models used a clevis.

Plus later model shocks only had preload adjustments where the earlier had preload and rebound.

Yes, no??

Didn't the shock change in '91 when the swingarm went from aluminium to steel? The shock setup on my '90 parts bike is completely different to my '91.

Harvey - Colin,

Thanks Harvey, but I just tried the yamaha-motors link and it didn't work for me.  I don't know why, its the same URL I have.

Colin, this link will work   http://www.mondakmotorsports.com/
Go to "shopping" then to "parts finder" and follow along to what you want.
If you find something you want, the let Gary McCoy know you're a yamaha email list member for a great (well, uh, pretty good discount price)

Cheers,
Arnie

Harvy

Yep, your right Arnie.......that's not working (I copied it out of my bookmarks without testing to see if it was still correct.

My apologies.

This one works.

Has anyone spoken to Gary lately? I places an order with him over a month ago and have yet to see any parts or an answer to my emails looking for an update.

A friend who ordered a new chain on the same day I did has already cancelled his last order.

I just got off the phone with Gary.... ordered my coolant tank. He's there and sounded well. Give him a call. I used the 866 # and asked for Gary.
