ran 130 for a few miles .... all leathered up with someplace to go - passed some lid-less HD riders -  :diablo: hard to read their faces at 2 times their velocity  :good2:.....
Damn I love power :wacko1:!

Went out for a little practice to try to get a bit better at riding the FJ, have all of 400 miles in this seat so far. I am trying to get a better feel for the RPM range reqired to get the best mix of performance and control on the street, so far 6K to 9K works best for me while tryiing to ride in a spirited fashion, stitching corners together.

Love how they sorted out the downshifts, so smooth. Cool sounding engine as well and it leans over nicely. I was shocked when I hit 105 without much effort on a secluded canyon road, need to watch the speed a bit.

Watch the speed? DEFINITELY!!!

My current "daily driver" FJ is a 1992 ABS model I picked up from a seller in Madison, Wisconsin. Not even 24 hours after the sale I got a ticket in southern Illinois for 92 mph. I was slowing down from around 130 mph!

Yes, I really miss living in Germany, and all its autobahns.

I have a similar story.

Was coming back from visiting a friend in BGSU in Ohio, just a straight shot westwards through Indiana to the middle of northern IL.  Was on an 87 CBR1000 (my first real "powerful" bike) and was making spectacular time (young and stupid, etc).  Top of fifth gear at ~140ish, came to a large hill and decided to back off rather than upshift, as I was blind to the other side of the crest.

Cop sitting at the bottom.

81 in a 65 zone said the paper, but the poor guy didn't understand why I was laughing so hard and kept saying that timing is everything...   I'm sure it made the day of all the people I'd just blown past at unhealthy speeds, though!

Lol I have had a similar account too, although much different. I was on my little commuter 125 Suzuki Pushing 115km/h in a 60 zone(nearly double the speed limit) Saw a traffic officer in the distance and started slowing, by the time I passed him I was going 80. When I passed him he motioned to me to pull over and immediately I thought he had caught me speeding. As it turns out he was pulling over all the motorcyclists to check for licenses and roadworthy discs. As it turned out somebody had stolen my cicrcular disc and therefore got a 200 bucks fine for "not having roadworthy disc displayed" I expleained to the officer that I did indeed have the certificates and he said if I took them to the local department I could have the fine squashed but would need to get a new disc.

Oh if I had been caught doing 80 in the 60 zone I would have received about a 500 to 600 fine. If i had been caught doing the original 120 I would have had my license and bike taken away and thrown into the slammer for a bit with a nice hefty fine
