Those that live in the U.S., don't take your parts availability for granted.

I'm heading back to the U.S. soon. I'm almost broke because of all the stuff I've ordered and sent to my hotel. I work on aircraft, so I am able to bring back nearly anything I want [Shhhh...].

So far I've ordered:

- New chin fairing (belly pan) from Beasley Composites
- New rear tire
- Nice riding/racing pants

Plus a bunch of other personal items.

I'm so excited!!!  :yahoo:

I got the pants - they are really nice for the price. I got the white and black. They are nicer than the stock photo in the ad.  Depending on the size, there are other color options still available. Right now, the 36" blue and white ones are $33. They are probably intended for dirt riding, but they will match my white and black Icon jacket nicely.

Beware - Mine came in a box about 5 feet X 3 Feet X 8 inches. The pants were bundled up in a plastic bag at the bottom of the box. STRANGE.

I got all my stuff back here to Hungary. I drilled the chin scoop (belly pan) today. It still needs to be prepped and painted.

I got my new rear tire. When I go drag racing this weekend, I'll be much more bold with my burnouts on the old tire. I need to get some videos!

I also bought a nice big all-in-one Gateway computer there. It was on clearance for about $500. All my laptops I brought over here are 110/220 volts. I checked this new computer and it also takes 110/220 volts. I made sure before I bought it. I got it home to Hungary, plugged it in, and BOOM - I cooked the power supply! I later found a switch on the power supply itself to manually change from 110 to 220 volt input. That sucks!!!

I was in the U.S. for 2 weeks and saw only one guy pushing his bicycle because he had a flat tire. In the first 5 hours here in Hungary I counted 6 people pushing perfectly good bicycles. See my other post on "Strange Hungarian Customs" for more info on this bicycle pushing hysteria. I just don't get it.

maybe they dont like getting anywhere fast (er) :unknown: ?

do they push downhill too ?

seems walking without a bike would be more logical.

I think you need to learn how to say "why are you walking?" or even better yet, "why aren't you riding that bicycle?" in Hungarian.  If understanding their response would be the issue, perhaps get a translator to ask someone while they are in the act.  I previously read where you asked a co-worker and he thought you were imagining things or some such, so it must be in asked of the walker [would be rider] in the act.  My money is on it being about 'saving the tires' or some such.

Definitely post out when you find out -I am most curious.

When I had a bicycle and used to ride it some good 10 miles to work and another 10 back I never got off of it to walk when i was tired or the likes, I simply changed to a lower gear. You will find getting off a bike and walking next to it actually makes you more tired than just staying on and freewheeling when you can, so like Dan this behaviour is quite strange and woulf like to know what you can find out.

I dont see how it can be tyre wear as a set of normal tyres lasted me an easy 2 to 3 years (barring punctures) and as I said I put a good few miles on my bicycle every day...

I reckon they either purposely want to obstruct traffic or show off their bikes :unknown:
Life behind bars - is actually quite thrilling
