Anyone know of a rather....lenient...inspection station? I'm still trying to get mine on the road.

Where in MD are you?  I think if all the basics are there, lights, horn, brakes, you should be fine.  What's iffy with the bike?

I'm in Severn, about 30 min south of balt. Well, the bike is a streetfighter, so it has an aftermarket headlight/turn signals, which are not DOT. Also, I have a digital speedo and odometer, but those are the only guages I have....but it does have lights, horn, and brakes.lol

There's a shop in Annapolis that might work with you.  They're not a bike shop, but I think they sponsor or run race cars.  Don't know of anything north of 50.

I'm like 15 or 20 min from annapolis, so that's not bad at all. What's the name of the place? Have you used them?

I know every state is different, but it sounds like you have the basics covered. You would probably get a sticker in this state anyways.

Have you brought it anywhere to see what they think?

In some cases it might be worth getting a  more strict place to check it over and point things out that you may not be aware of.

Travis speaks my thoughts, this is a motorcycle after all, just cuz somebody lets something slide doesn't mean you're good to go. I don't care about cosmetics, which sounds like the main point of your initial post, some states (and stations) are way too uptight, but I've seen the flip side where anything gets a sticker, despite the leaking forks, spongy brakes, weather cracked tires, forks leaking on spongy brakes and weather cracked tires, loose head bearings, gas leaks, and various other suicidal mechanical deficits. You and your bike need all the advantages you can get, no need to make it riskier. Disclaimer- my FJ has some uh, challenges, so this may fall into the "do as I say, not as I do" category. Sorry for the preachy, just want everyone to have a good ride :good2:

Sorry for the delayed response.  They block this site at work, and the summer camps, etc have been keeping me busy in the evenings.

The place in Annapolis is S&S Auto Performance, Inc., 1928 Lincoln Dr., Units A-F, 410-263-5066.

I got the FJR inspected there, but it was still fairly fresh and they had no issues with it.  I did put a new shoe on the front.  Its not a bike shop, but they seem okay.

Inspections ?  Out west all we do is inspect the sky for good weather. :)) Good luck on getting your ride back on the road. FJ's would make good urban rat bikes.
Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...

Maryland has a one-time inspection at registration, if not a new vehicle.  Unlike our brethren in VA and PA with recurrent inspections.  We do have biannual emission inspections for most counties.
