Hello Everybody! I am new to this soplease feel free to correct me if necessary!

I am rebuilding a 1991 FJ1200 ABS and would like to know if it is possible to remove this system & upgrade rear and front brakes with something better. I figure everymodification I make now while I replace subframe I might as well do. So any mods will be appreciated!!

Welcome to the group.

Give us a name!

There are many mods you can do to your '91. Yes, the ABS system can be removed. The front brake callipers can be replaced with blue spot callipers from pre '03 R1s or 03 R1 gold spots. After 03 the R1s went to radial calliper which are not suitable. Upgrade the front brake master too while you are at it and replace the rubber brake lines with braided steel lines. The rear calliper is not usually replaced as it is quite adequate, unless you intend to replace the rear wheel with a 5.5 inch rim.
You can go the whole hog if you wish and replace the front forks with FZ1  or maybe YZF750 USD forks and the swing arm can be replaced with FZ1, Thunderace or even R1...... and there are probably many others that could be used. (I've seen single sided Honda arms used too.)
